Summary of Services
Provided directly to Clients
During 1999 Theosis projects provided services to more than 9 000 clients,
the majority being girls under the age of 18.
It is almost
impossible to list the services we provide in any sensible manner. We are
mostly involved in service delivery in developing countries and volunteers must necessarily
try to be all-things-to-all-people. Following is a brief attempt to 'list'
the services supplied to Theosis clients.
-
Drop-In
services (counselling, facilities, referral, safety, friendship, 24hour
resource, lobbying with Govt., gaining trust, street work, finding lost
children, being a healing presence on the street.
-
Shelter
services (meals, beds, basic clothing, counselling, family services, medical
services, empowering children to be reintegrated, life skills and social skills
and personal skills.)
-
Life
Skills Services (self respect, hygiene, conversation skills, conflict
resolution, budgeting skills, social skills, basic arithmetic, basic literacy,
general knowledge, assertiveness, cultural issues, family life, etc.)
-

Woodwork, Catering, Gardening, Basic Office Work, Animal Husbandry)
