Main Areas of Activity
- We are involved in international lobbying on behalf of the girl child on
the street, and participated at the first international conference against
commercial sexual exploitation of children, Stockholm in 1996, and various
other forums in this regard.
- We provide 24-hour emergency services to child and teenage prostitutes in
the slums of Johannesburg, South Africa
- We provide shelter and residential care services to destitute and runaway
teenage girls in Southern Africa
- We provide life skills and self-employment skills training to girls who
lost years of schooling because of life on the streets
- We provide spiritual and holistic care services to girls in long term
residence
- We provide tens of thousands of meals, nights of shelter, 2nd hand clothing items and care
services each year.
- We provide volunteer opportunities, training, and facilities to short term
(3 months minimum) and long term volunteers from all over the world.
- We provide services to our shareholders--individuals, companies,
corporations, trusts, funds, and government agencies from all over the
world.
- We provide research opportunities to universities and government
agencies in South Africa, USA, UK and Northern Europe. We have
facilitated and assisted in various PhD, Masters and internship degrees in
the field of youth care and child prostitution.
- We provide public education services through the media and the
Internet. More than 180 international media articles were facilitated
to date.
- Each year we provide hundreds of thousands of condoms and HIV/Aids literature
to so-called sex workers on the street, in the quest for prevention of the spread of the virus.
